Combining Domains And Location Via RSS.me

Earlier today we put live a new feature for rss.me which combines social media, location based services, RSS and domains ..

Buzzword bingo! :)

So what exactly is it and how can you use it?

If you have a .tel domain name you probably know that you can update your location and / or your “status”. You can do that manually via your .tel control panel or you can do it via one of the mobile apps that Telnic have made available.

If you’re a social media user you might have an account with one of the location based services such as FourSquare, which, of course, has a mobile app as well.

So what we thought was to combine FourSquare with .tel domains – why use two apps when you can use one?

Setting it up via Rss.me is pretty easy ..

Go to the “add new feed” section as normal and you’ll have the option of adding a FourSquare feed and then connecting it to your .tel domain name.

Here’s how my personal one looks now with a FourSquare checkin:

.tel updated via rss.me

.tel updated via rss.me

Any questions or issues please let us know!

PS: If you don’t have a .tel domain yet you can still use FourSquare and RSS.me to update your Twitter location or Identi.ca ..
